U2charist to Rock St. Stephen’s Hollywood

Please join us for a vibrant worship and communion service, in the Episcopal tradition, as we host our first U2charist at 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 24, 2010.

All music in this special service will consist of songs written and recorded by the Irish rock legends U2 and performed live by Dream Records/Universal recording artists I’m Okay You’re Okay.

The U2charist will follow the liturgical structure of an Episcopal Eucharist, but incorporate U2 classics like, “Pride” (In the Name of Love); “Sunday, Bloody Sunday”; “When Love Comes to Town” “One” and “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” among others.

The worship service is free and appropriate for all ages (subject to sonic volume sensitivity). All are welcome.

An offering will be dedicated to the Health Justice program of the nonprofit Jubilee Consortium, encouraging and empowering families in low income areas of metropolitan Los Angeles to become healthy and strong.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, the four-piece indie rock band, I’m Okay You’re Okay relocated to Los Angeles and is touring in support of its debut CD, “Presents…”. The record has reached #17 on Billboard Magazine’s Top New Artists chart. The band will sign and sell copies of their CD after the service.

Parking is free in the church lot at 6125 Carlos Avenue, Hollywood, CA 90028– one block north of Hollywood Boulevard and Gower.
